We meet monthly (except in August) for lectures on a broad and diverse range of topics. These lectures are given by experienced and highly qualified lecturers who are experts in their chosen field. A full description is in the 'Lectures' section.

To supplement the monthly lectures, Special Interest Days (SIDs) are arranged twice a year in which a topic is studied in greater depth.

We are fortunate to be able to use the facilities of Epsom College for our SIDs so have a nice auditorium with tiered seating.

The day usually consists of 3 lectures – 2 in the morning with a coffee break (with homemade biscuits) in between, followed by a delicious hot lunch in the College’s dining room.

The day concludes with a third lecture.

This is an opportunity to not only get closer to the speaker and ask questions but to chat to other members of the society.

Members can also bring a friend who is not a member to see who we are and what we do!

Virginia Jervis SID Secretary

Information about each SID is available in the 'Special Interest' section.

The Society also organizes visits to art galleries, museums and places of historic and artistic interest in the UK and tours to overseas cultural centres. Find out more in our 'Visits/Tours' section.

The 'Volunteering' section describes our regular activities of promoting Arts VolunteersChurch Recording and Heritage Volunteering.
